Why is there a group of people trying to portray "immigrants without GC buying a home and later letting it go to foreclosure due to job loss" as criminals ??? ( "extradited and put behind bars" , "must never come back to US" , etc etc) . US is a debt based economy and it relies on people spending money, hence bankruptcy is a perfectly legal procedure and your credit gets screwed , but that's it and the rule is the same for anyone, be GC holders, citizens, illegal immigrants, legal immigrants. Why discriminate against fellow immigrants ? only just because you can ? why not put the mortgage brokers who pushed inventive mortgages or the big bankers who got million dollar bonuses because their mortgage backed assets portfolio doubled to trillion dollars, behind bars ?
Give us a break. Buying a house or renting is a personal choice (I'm for buying if your rent is pretty close to the supposed mortgage payments) , and please let it be like that. Ya I know there might be peer pressure/family pressure , so what ? I also get asked sometimes when I go back to India as to why I don't have a GC yet, I just smile and say "I don't know and frankly I don't care" :)

Schiff has repeatedly stated that he does not believe in amnesty for undocumented aliens, but he does believe that those who have been living in this country -- working and paying taxes -- should be given an opportunity to embark on a lengthy and hard-earned path to citizenship. It is not advised to double file, perhaps you'll get this back sooner than expected and then send it to the lockbox, dunno why they are complicating things as it is there are enough complications :-(

Same here, I have Masters from a very high rated US University and 10 years of experience, but was misguided by attorneys, as there was no retrogression when I applied. Ending up with EB3.
Members like I_Got_Skillz are new kids on the block, who think that only they got masters in the whole world. Just from their sign-in names you can tell how immature they are.
I think big changes like CIR, elimination of EB2 or legislative amendments are not feasible right now, and we should try for some low profile but effective changes that can be done by decision makers at USCIS itself, unnoticed by politicians. For example, somehow convincing USCIS to change their spillover rules, so that EB3-I can get some benefits. We can try to make them understand that doing this will eliminate a lot of their old time backlog and will increase their reputation among other federal departments.
ChrisRock, Raju & other EB3 members must realize as long as members like I_Got_Skillz are here who are lurking just to ruin any EB3 conversation, it is very difficult to come up with a solution.
Also, the idea that an EB2 is more skilled and EB3 is not, is wrong since EB2s are nothing but the same qualification with a few more years of experience and EB3s are the same but who have been misguided by the attorneys when retrogression was never there.
Example, in my case, I have a masters, 7 years of experience before starting my green card app. Currently, I have a total of 15 years of experience as of today working in various domains.
In my opinion if you are looking for a solution which is more radical but practical, it should be in a way where there is a highly skilled category which should be more like EB1 and the rest. I think EB2 should be eliminated and merge both EB3 & EB2 candidates and do a FIFO processing. Isn't this the way most of the countries in rest of the world gave their process?
These are all changes which cannot be done due to politics, but in my opinion is the right approach.
Even some of the IV state chapter leaders etc are people with EB2 apps and they shoot down anything which works to their disadvantages.
It is only the IV Core & a few other members which really care about the backlog irrespective of category.
Please note, I am not naming any state chapter leaders in particular, but I have observed via threads & posts how their line of thoughts are.

I am living in Toronto/Canada.My Labor and I-140 is approved.My PD is current, so I can file I-485.I would like to know that, how long will take time to I come to USA and what else needs to be done?I appreciate if anyone help me in this matter.

You cannot file for I-485. You can file I-485 only if you are present in United States. Since, you are living in Toronto, Canada, you have to appear for consular visa processing. This process is different than the process (I-485) for people who are on temporary visas in US and their PD has become current.

The first response to my $200 campaign. Shows how popular I will be in my run for public office. Makes me feel slightly better and hopeful.
After making a contribution, we should focus on contributions from other members. I don't know how any other discussion will take us to our goal.
It is easy to work on non-paying members and persons who visit the site.
It is very clear that IV's email is not reaching all members. Any progress?

I do not think anyone is accusing IV of taking sides. I do not think they ever campaigned for EB2 and not EB3, The point is completely missed. But the movement happening is for EB2 only and not EB3, so it is only human for EB3 folks to see and feel depressed that nothing is happending for them.
Not few days ago, the administrators have themselves mentioned that there is no hope for EB3 unless a CIR is brought in congress and the only other thing for folks to do sooner is to Port, and which we all know only a few can do, not everyone...
In the light of all this...are we not missing an action plan????
I have contacted my lawmakers, sent letters to them...and its not even a long time since I joined this forum...the point is how do we make new people motivated?

We need about 000 members signing up for the monthly contributions in a month. I am sure we can do that. We have 8000 members and it should be easy. Till now we have only 100 signups

When did you get your FP notice? I filed on 7/1, still waiting for FP. My FP for I-485 is just 6 months old. Will it have any bearing?

Please note that even tho the dates have moved, we are not out of the woods. There is a definate possibililty that the dates could regress in October. If you choose consular processing and your category/country retrogresses then it will have implications. Talk to your lawyer before taking any decision.
If you are lucky then its straightforward, for some its a nightmare, namecheck can take some time in the meantime your category can regress.

Whatever you earn from Trading is taxable as your earned income. On the flip side if you ve made losses there is a provision for some tax deduction as well . Contact a good Tax consultant
