Thanks a lot Dom, it took some time for me to find transparent layered maps of water to work with. Initially this was drawn with the orange falling down, but an even splash wasn't what i had in mind. So I had random splash, mostly one directional and then spinned the image to have gravity work as well-once again thanks

I had my H1b till Nov 16, 2010 with Company1
Company2 applied for H1b transfer and it was approved as of Nov 08, 2010 ( but we didn't get any notification about it it's approval until few weeks later)
Company1 filed for H1b extension on Nov 10, 2010
I properly resigned Company1 on Nov 30, 2010 and started working with Company2 on Dec 1, 2010
Somehow Company1 didn't terminate my H1b extension and it got approved as of Jan 18, 2011.
1) Which status am I in? What decides my status?
2) Can I continue working for Company2 without any problems? Has this new approval put my transfer in jeopardy?
3) Do I need to update Company2 about Company1's extension approval?
4) Do I need to leave the Country to do any stamping?

It depends on which USCIS district you are applying from... but all in all these days between 3-6 months from applying to taking oath. Times for military personnel might vary.
Your country of birth/current citizenship has no bearing on times (unlike for Green Card)
Go here and check the service center closest for N-400 timelines: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=bac585
Note: These timelines do no include time for taking oath.

This is my situation friends.
- My I-140 approved in January 2007 and I-485 filed in July 2007
- Me and my wife has EAD + Advance Parole (AP) + Finger print done.
- We decided to go back to India
- I will come for 3 months every year and other 9 months, I will work from India for the same employer, the same work-outsourcing work.
- I will be continued on Payroll of my present employer in future too.
- I came on visitor visa in 2001 and then converted into H-1b visa and then never go to India till today.
- Now I am on H-1b extension on 7th year (3 yr. extension up to year 2010 on basis of approved I-140)
- I will get H-1b visa stamp up to year 2010 from Mumbai, so can I come to USA on H-1b visa stamp after conversion of ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS (AOS) TO CONSULAR PROCESSING (CP)? (my present AP will be expired at that time when I come to USA)
- Now what can I do? Should I TRANSFER FROM �Adjustment Of Status (AOS) TO Consular Processing (CP)� or continue on AOS? What is better and advisable for me?
- Can I get Advance Parole (AP) from India after Consular Processing conversion?
- To convert from AOS to CP, can I have to be in USA or I can do from India also?
Your help in this matter will be highly appreciated as I am going very soon.

let your HR know you are switching and they will have you fill in a new form for their files
2) I read in some forum posts: there is a new law OR amendment - people working on EAD with adjustment of status will be deported.. we need to continue maintaining H1B status..is it legitimate?

EAD and AP are 2 separate things and neither affect each other. They are both based on a pending 485 application and that's about all that is common with those 2 filings.

I'm in a strange situation. I just got my green card (I have an L2) yesterday so it is great news. But somehow, today I was checking my EAD since it becomes obsolete and I just realised that I completely forgot to renew it before it expired 2 months ago, early January. So it means that I worked the past 2 months with my expired EAD but got my green card nevertheless.
Do you have any advice as what I should do? Should I check with my HR about the EAD...

Such evidence may include, but is not limited to: medical records, school records and religious documents.Affadivits may also be accepted provided that they are sworn to by persons who born at the time of and who have personal knowledge of to which to which they attest. Any affidavits must contain the affiant�s full name and address, date and place of birth, relation ship to the party on whose behalf they are attesting , If any complete details concerning how the affiant acquire knowledge of the event.
