Able to read English or not should not constitute an offense. Not able to read a road sign and erring on that basis is an offense. All the regulatory and warning road signs have a symbol associated with the text (Octogon for stop 'U' for U-turn, curve ahead.....). Only the advisory signs (exit signs and street signs) have English names and no signs.

I just came back from doc..and he charged 400 dollars (xray will cost more in next few days. Anyways, he says he need to administer Tetnus 3 times (6 months apart).
I am not sure what he will say in report (which i get in couple of days). But my question to you all is :
When Shots are given with time lag, Is 485 processed normally or RFE happens or do USCIS just wait for all shots to be completed and submission of report by doc before they process anything?

Only DTAP is needed once actually my doc said that tetnus only is sufficient but DTAP is much better. I think this doc is making it up.

I apologise if this info is old - i had never heard of the US consulate issueing "B1 in lieu of H1" visa.

I agree with smuggy, we do not fight hard to get money because
We don't really work that hard to make that money, If you worked during your undergraduate years in slaughter houses like McDonalds and Pizza hut, you would know what the value of money today, most of them are paid by their parents,
Most of the desis are creative but lazy at work (esp. people in my company), so they work long hours, Can not read complicated text, especially from Insurance companies
and some of them are look backwards as lawsuits are taboo, terrible balance between work and life, procrastination, and finally, not understanding of how to make use of simple, dummy proof American legal system to solve tiny and simple problems like insurance payments and rejections.

These consulting companies who were abusing the visa will be taught a lesson.
People used to complain a lot about desi companies and now when USCIS has finally become tough they are complaining about it.
You cannot have it both ways.
The same RFE is also being issued to companies like Accenture, Deloitte and IBM consulting as long as the keyword "technology services" appears in the petition. How about that? This is not 2nd or 3rd hand news, but the couple of guys and a girl sitting in the cubicles adjacent to mine who work for Deloitte got the same standard RFE. Heck, you can't call them "cheap" labor as most of them drive Beemers or Audis and one of them also has a Masters from Caltech (probably better qualified than you or me Mr. Teli or any of the USCs we have working at the company :rolleyes:)

We are apply independently since both of us are in H1B status
I presume that this marriage in foreign country may not be valid because the marriage was neither registered in India nor done according to Foreign Marriage Act, 1969, since both of us are citizen of India at this present time.
However; we are working out with our parents to get married and register in India, but unsure when this will happen.

It is better to contact a attorney or other relavent family/marraiage law counsulars. It is very important. USCIS treats if vigorosly this issue, as marriage realted fraud is very high in immigration benefits, particularly in FB catagory.

You don't need to buy insurance. The State governments offer free insurance to people who need it. Atleast your family members would qualify for it.

Any idea what we are trying to achieve here?
If you guys thing i am dumb, you are more then welcome to think that, but i am still confused about the thread.
the reason is to see the processing date relation with LUD, i am sure like we all can see that USCIS has no standard pattern.
many of them has LUD 08/05...i read here that someone applied in april end in tsc lud before 8/05 got approved, and someone who has filed before april at tsc and lud 8/05 no update yet.

when u file for the new 140..u are supposed to send in theold approved 140 and request for porting.. thats how my attorney did..
finally i got the 140 from my employer..and my date was ported successfully..so its all good.

Is there any link or formal document which suggest that we can file new I-140 along with a copy of old I-140 to retain older priority date. My attorney doesn't agree to this, he says that we need to get the new I-140 approved first and than file for porting the date seperately. While entering the USA in Aug 2007 the Immigration office gave me I-94 validity till June 2008 which is equal to my H1-B Visa Stamp validity in passport, I had my new I-797 H1-B document from new employer with valid I-94 at the bottom till Sep 2009.
Will the I-94 validity given by immigration officer over rules the I-797 I-94 validity. If so, can i apply for the extension. Or shall i go out of the country and while entering ask the immigration officer to give validity based on my new I-797.

First of all if you are the employee for whom the case has been filed, you should NOT be contacting the Dept. of Labor. The purpose of the DOL as stated in the regs is to notify the USCIS that there are no able, willing, or qualified US workers for the position, and that's why they are granting you the position. If you call, especially over and over as you have indicated, that's a big red flag. Leave it alone and let your attorney or employer contact them.

Please share your experience with purchasing tickets online from sites like makemytrip.com. chepoairines.com etc kinda sites verses travel agents.
I am planning to go from New York to New Delhi after 2-3 months and exploring options. Recently someone I know came from India and paid only 1.5 Lakh rupees for 5 tickets. He could get a good deal because he knew the travel agent.
This shows the huge margins these travel agents and travel insurance agents have. Travel insurance purchased in USA does not even consider pre existing conditions ( their terms and conditions are confusing) and getting them to pay your bills is a big pain. So I can understand why travel agents and travel insurance agents make so much money and can advertise everywhere on TV and websites in USA.
So please share experience and suggest a good website or agent who can give a great deal to me. Do not reply if you are an agent. I am looking for experiences from customers.

The H1 document in and by itself is not. The I-94 card that comes printed at the bottom is. And the I-94 card is a valid document as per the I-9 form.

If you got your labor approved and if you apply I-140 before December, you are eligible to get extension for 1 year.
If you got your labor approved and if your I-140 is approved before December, you will be eligible to get extension for 3 years.
