4$ is a lot when considering the margins mfg are working under for the average consumer model (sub 1k). I just don't see why they don't give it away
so you work in the consumer electronics manufacturing industry? tell us more.

Here are some photos I took at the launch... I resized them to 350px as the forum script was re-encoding them and they had horrible JPEG artefacts over the thumbnails previously.

Hah, you got me at the bottom of the stairs on this one! Me and my two friends, I'm in the middle.

Can't wait to see what they announce. It would be nice to see a bigger jump than usual for iOS and hopefully a shipping date for Lion.
My thoughts exactly. I've been awaiting the SB Lion OS iMacs for the longest time now. I cannot wait-looking forward to any more news on this front!
(Opps. My response was meant as a reply to Post# 13.)

Just for those who thing this is a hand-slap kind of thing, I worked on a project where someone leaked an industrial design on a product and the FBI arrested them and they were facing 75 years in federal prison for it. This kind of stuff can get you more years than killing someone.
Depressing, but prolly true. Corporate muscle and lobbying power to protect their profits is more important than the taking of a life. Topsy-turvy, eh?:p

For the specific Mac models (like the oogles of PowerMac revisions), would it be wise to just link directly to AppleSpec instead of making our own? We already have [[PowerMac]] with links to [[PowerMac_G4]] which then links to [[PowerMac_specificModel]]. Maybe the links on the PowerMac_G4 page should be to the AppleSpec PDFs for those models?

[QUOTE=LethalWolfe]Ask her if you can mount your drive on her desktop./QUOTE]
:) Asking is clearly worth a shot. What's the worst that can happen ... being told that going for coffee is okay, but no new discs are being allowed in her Superdrive for the forseeable future? It might help if you have a letter from Steve approving of this.

Push Notifications are when your phone automatically checks for updates, alerts etc. without you having to open the app right? I guess it's just misleading to me because when I hear "push" notifications, I think of something that happens when I push the app or open it up.
Thanks for the fast response!
A push notification is sent from the server to phone automatically. Thus, when something changes on the server in regards to your Facebook account, the information is pushed to your phone if you have subscribed to receive that type of notification. In short, you don't have poll for the information because the information is being pushed to you.

A car that gets 60 mpg will do just as much 'damage' to a road surface as a car that get 8 mpg....but the 50mpg car will pay much, MUCH less for upkeep of that road than the other in a gas-tax based situation.
damage to the road is mostly depending on vehicle weight: the biggest offender actually are trucks/semis
one point to consider: a 40 ton truck doesn't t do the same damage as 40 1 ton cars. it actually does more damage to the surface. that's why it takes only a modest increase in truck traffic to really ruin roads

Im enjoying this chaos. Personally, unless it's music, podcasts are a bore and a waste of time. They're worse than blogs. Ok, maybe not that bad.

My job is standing in line
Mall security is getting anal about sitting in front of stores. They came by and measured out from the store opening and if you are in the way they make you move.
On a good note the Nestle toll house cookie store is starting to open.
DP
That cookie stand is going to be taunting you ALL day....at least there is not a Cinnabon store right there, I would have a heart attack before 5pm.

""They're going to see it all eventually so who cares how they get it." Which seemed to be about web content, said the tipster."
How can that be interpreted about web content ?
I think they were actually talking about downloading the Britney Spears sex tape from Bit Torrent.

Yes, T-Mobile uses 2100 Mhz, which iPhone supports, but they also use 1700 Mhz, which no iPhone yet supports. You'd need both to use T-Mobile's 3G network.
It would be much easier to add the 1700 Mhz band than to create a CDMA iPhone, though I think both are likely.
Hopefully Verizon accepts fate and just switches to GSM like Bell and Telus (former CDMA stalwarts) did up here in Canada.
Mind you, Rogers, Fido, Bell, Telus and Virgin all sell the iPhone - all for the same price and same monthly fees. So competition isn't always better.

Anybody that is a photographer?
At least I care alot, and this could mean a whole lot of improvement for my company.

You are completely, either willfully or not, ignorant of the situation in Wisconsin.
Remember, they had a surplus until their Governor decided to give big business a tax cut almost identical to the "Deficit" they're not facing.
Don't forget that the Union stripping bill that somehow is going to help with the fake deficit was passed only because it wasn't a revenue related bill.
